What is a postpartum doula?

The word doula is a Greek word meaning woman’s servant.

A postpartum doula is a judgement free, non medical experienced woman who comes into your home to support mothers and families following the first few days or weeks of child birth.  A doula “mothers the mother”.

Research has shown that woman who use a doula:

  • are more successful at breastfeeding
  • have greater confidence
  • have less postpartum depression

Giving yourself the gift of a doula is a gift you will not regret, and in future pregnancies will want to use again.
